What to expect from our Qigong Instructors and Clinicians
In the health and wellness industry, instructors and clinicians are expected to regularly complete Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure their skills remain current and safe, and our UK Qigong students are no exception. We operate independently and do not function as a state college or university, nor do we assume responsibility for the individual actions or services of Qigong Instructors and Clinical Qigong Practitioners.
Our UK College of Qigong Directory does not serve as a legal endorsement; however, it aims to inform the public about instructors/clinicians who are current in their training, demonstrate respect, honesty, integrity, and humility, and uphold these lifelong values. Qualified instructors and clinicians invited to appear in our Directory have shown up-to-date expertise as of their last CPD. While some individuals may have trained with the UK College of Qigong in the past, not all are included in our Directory.
We encourage the public to use this information as a guide when choosing a qualified Qigong Instructor or Clinical Qigong Practitioner.

REVIEW:
“After searching for Qigong Teachers on the Internet, I chose the UK College of Qigong because of its credibility and professionalism. I wanted to find a Teacher I could trust. After reading two to three pages of the website, I decided to email Sifu Anita Mason.
I had done Qigong previously as a Chinese Medicine Practitioner. I was taught the physical exercises, but I wasn’t taught in depth, and I was left feeling that I wanted to know more. Once I learnt a basic skillset from Sifu and practiced regularly, I was amazed how it improved my life. I was more grounded, more relaxed, calmer, and more focused.
Fantastic Golden Ball Qigong Instructor training in London. Fantastic teaching method.”

“Hi, I’m Jennifer from ‘Glow Qigong Kent’, where you can often find me immersed in the tranquil beauty of bluebell woods, cornfields, and lavender fields. This connection to nature inspired me to seek out a low-impact exercise that could be done in the natural surroundings of the beautiful Kent countryside. I was looking for a form of exercise that would not only enhance my physical well-being but also uplift my spirit and help me and others find their inner positive glow. That’s when I discovered the Golden Ball Qigong practice, and it has truly transformed my life.
Golden Ball Qigong offers a wealth of health benefits – physically cleansing and mentally uplifting. What drew me in was the creativity of the UK College of Qigong, where the teachings brought concepts like the energy of a waterfall to life in a way that resonated with me as a visual learner. The theory was engaging, perfectly balanced to meet my needs without being overwhelming.
What really kept me motivated were the regular, uplifting messages from our teacher on WhatsApp, which fostered a strong sense of community. It’s wonderful to be part of something that not only promotes self-care but also connects you with like-minded individuals.
Now, my mission is to share this gift with others. In the same way that Kent’s peaceful landscapes offer a retreat from the hustle and bustle, I aim to help people find relief from stress, take time out for self-care, and discover a sense of well-being that radiates from within. Through Qigong, I hope to inspire others to find their own moments of tranquillity and joy.
Join me on this journey to discover a happier, healthier you.”

“I’m Steph from Vida Qigong in Bristol
After completing the Pulling Down the Heavens Qigong and Swaying Qigong courses, which I found deeply enriching, I was drawn to the Golden Ball course. My journey led me to the UK College of Qigong, a decision made after much careful research. What captivated me most was the college’s commitment to traditional teachings, something that Sifu Anita embodies beautifully. She took the time to interview me, not just to fill a seat, but to genuinely understand if I was aligned with the college’s ethos. This thoughtful approach resonated with me, making me feel like I had found the right place.
Sifu Anita’s teachings were special to me because she gave me space to grow, even when I might have been a challenging student. Life’s demands often swayed me like branches in the wind, yet I was allowed to learn at my own pace. As it turned out, I completed the final modules at just the right moment. The theoretical lessons, rich in detail, have seamlessly integrated into my practice. I often hear Sifu Anita’s voice in my mind, guiding me with her vivid visualizations, especially when I’m practicing under the canopy of trees. Her deep connection to Dao and nature brought the traditional aspects of Qigong to life in a way that other courses had not.
Nature has been my sanctuary, guiding me back to well-being. It feels only natural to teach Qigong beneath the very trees that have nurtured my soul. My goal as a teacher is simple: to create an environment where my students can find joy in a practice that supports them, allowing them to flourish both in our shared space and in their own time. I hope they find the same sense of well-being I have discovered through Qigong and, together, we can cultivate a community rooted in the harmony of like-minded spirits.”

An aspect of training that really impressed me was the systematic learning process. During each module, Anita was open to questions that were always answered clearly and precisely. “I am Lesley from Qigong Wellness Saltburn.
I studied the Golden Ball Qigong Instructor Course as I was looking for an alternative to teaching Yoga. My students were finding it challenging to get up and down off the floor. I was so happy to find that Qigong provided the solution as this form of exercise can be done in a chair or standing.
When I phoned the UK College of Qigong I knew after hearing the teacher’s voice, it was right for me. We shared so much in common, and I loved the importance and respect for lineage within the College. The three regulations were woven through our teachings from module to module, but when we were taught the third regulation of visualization, everything really fitted into place for me. The imagery used resonated so much, I will carry it through to my students in my own courses.
The world can look a little grey when life throws us its challenges. I now look forward to sharing Golden Ball Qigong with the people of Saltburn – to help them ‘switch on the sunrise’ in themselves and thrive again.”

“I’m Steph from Ebb and Flow Qigong. I live on the beautiful island of Guernsey, with its undulating coastline and tranquil sandy beaches. Not surprisingly, wellness is a huge priority, both for me and my fellow islanders.
I have taught in the fitness industry for over 28 years and have always been interested in the Mind/Body aspect of fitness training. And now I also promote the benefits of Qigong to my fellow swimmers where classes are held outdoors on some of the island’s bays, weather permitting.
I chose to study at the UK College of Qigong after watching my Yoga teacher’s summit with Fitness industry leaders. I was drawn to Anita’s integrity and down to earth manner. The course I signed up for was accessible online – a big bonus when it costs so much to get off my island rock! What I loved about my training was the honest, careful guidance of the teacher and the way the exercises were built up layer by layer to incorporate the physical, breathwork and visualisation.
I teach an increasingly ageing population and can see how this low impact exercise system will benefit my fellow islanders. Sometimes in our lives, waters can be murky, turbulent and we can feel lost at sea. Through my Qigong classes I can show people how to reset their compass, confident in the knowledge that the seas will calm and the tide will turn in their favour again. Such is the ebb and flow of life!.”

“You will find me enjoying life in Windsor, Royal Berkshire, which is rich in culture and history. Famous for Windsor Castle, one of the oldest inhabited castles in the world. Its mighty stature and protective walls have provided a safe haven for those who reside there and protection from enemies and strangers over its years. Liken this to our modern day lives, like most people in life, I get swept away with work and money issues, stress being my constant enemy. I also struggled with injuries (historic & new) and ageing did not help matters either.
I first tried Qigong at a retreat. I immediately felt like this was something special. I enjoyed learning the sets and the movements gave me a sense of peacefulness and calm. I knew it was something I wanted to Instruct. To be a Qigong instructor would allow me to teach something I believe in; and will benefit me and those who participate equally.
The UK College of Qigong offered me the opportunity to have a starting point to learn Qigong and become an instructor. The course was concise and clear and has advocated the true essence of Qigong.
Now you will find me enjoying the ancient woodlands in Windsor Great Park; the majestic trees providing me with some respite from our noisy, invasive world. That the business that surrounds us there is time and space for peace and tranquillity.
Qigong has provided the answers for me. Now I am ready to share Qigong, confident that I can improve a person’s vital energy and fortify their general health. And we won’t need an army!”

“I am Emily from Bath. Bath is a special place to me because of its history as a healing spa town and its easy access to beautiful countryside.
I was drawn to the UK College of Qigong, where Sufi Anita clearly had the experience and wisdom I was looking for. I felt I was in safe hands. She lives and breathes Qigong and has high expectations from her students.
I enrolled for the Daoist Five Yin Qigong course because it promised a mix of theory and practical, and a combination of physical movement, breathwork and visualisation. The step-by-step videos were helpful, as I need to be shown things more than once. I liked the immediacy of a personal one-to-one on WhatsApp.
The other students were supportive, and I loved the monthly zoom calls where we learnt alongside each other. Being online made it accessible to all and it was great to meet new people from all over the UK.
The Daoist Five Yin Qigong set encourages the ancient Daoist principles of being ‘a friend of nature’ and living in harmony with the seasons.”

“Suffolk is the famous birthplace of painter John Constable, renowned for painting masterpieces of the Suffolk landscapes. Although time has moved on, these landscapes of rolling fields and coastal retreats have become my regular Qigong office.
Health and wellbeing have always been important to me. I have always seen the human body as an energetic system. I first came across Qigong as a young adult and found that Qigong grounded me while quieting my mind. I felt at peace.
I have thought of becoming a Qigong instructor for some years now. In lock down I decided that it was the time to become a Golden Ball Qigong Instructor and share with others a technique that would energise the body. I chose the UK College of Qigong where the teacher was specific, clear and focussed in her teaching of Golden Ball Qigong.

“I am Fergal from Emerald Qigong Belfast, surrounded by woodlands, river walks, meadowlands, and mountainous areas. All wonderful vast green spaces to reconnect with nature and absorb its exceptional characteristics. The reason I wanted to become a Qigong instructor is to encourage people to get outside more and reconnect with their natural environment.
The UK College of Qigong was recommended to me by a friend and TCM practitioner. The Golden Ball Qigong Instructor course was well presented and broken down into the necessary modules without straying off the path. Questions were answered with clarity and succinctness, by an obviously very knowledgeable tutor. The teaching that resonated with me personally is the undeniable connectedness we have with our natural environment.
I want to share Golden Ball Qigong with others to give them the toolset to help benefit them in times of physical, emotional or spiritual stress. Emerald represents vitality and new beginnings which echoes my intention to help people build their energy levels when their reserves are low. There is such simplicity to Qigong; as simplistic as nature itself. I look forward to helping people marvel at this gem of a system which provides so much value for so little investment.”

“I had been seeking an alternative form of exercise to teach those who have difficulty getting down to the floor and back up again, and which causes less strain to the joints. From reading the material on the UK College of Qigong website I quickly realised that Qigong fitted the bill perfectly, with the added benefit of not needing any additional equipment.
The UK College of Qigong teaches more than just a health exercise. I believe that this unique training will enable me to offer Qigong classes to those who are less able to practice more conventional forms of exercise and show them how to deal with the ups and downs of life through their Qigong practice.
How often do we feel free from stress and the pressures of day-to-day living? Once in a blue moon, right? “I had a previous Qigong practice so had some specific criteria in mind when I chose the Clinical Qigong for Chronic Conditions course. It was tailored for acupuncturists to provide an additional method to support patients in clinic.
The teacher was very clear about where Qigong fitted into the tradition of Chinese Medicine, the purpose of the sets we were studying and their benefits.
The teaching was very precise with lots of time for clarification ensuring we had understood the material. Because the group had different backgrounds it helped us to gain a view of how to deliver the material in everyday language. It was clear however that the material had a long lineage and history of use which appealed to me and aligned to my own values.
I particularly liked the layering of the learning and refining skills, for example starting with physical movements, then adding the breathing in the next session. I felt this ensured that students committed to the practice and really got to experience changes in their lives which could be brought back to the next lesson.
The high standards set by the teacher meant a real sense of achievement in having completed the course. Although we had to ensure our own standards met the school’s requirements, there were ample opportunities to ask questions and continuing support the whole time.
We definitely got the benefit of previous experience.”

“I had previously attended some Qigong classes and was eager to learn more as I found it so beneficial personally for me. I lead a busy lifestyle and as many people find it is difficult to ‘switch off.’
I had an initial conversation with the teacher. She was so supportive and helpful in explaining exactly what was on offer and the most appropriate course for me. In all the sessions, I felt very comfortable and although some of the others on the course came from different backgrounds, everyone was so friendly. The teacher led the sessions in such a way that you felt challenged and motivated yet were supported and encouraged to understand exactly what you were doing and why. The explanations made everything crystal clear and when applied, these became my ‘light bulb moments.’
I have undertaken a lot of training and self-development during the pandemic, but this was quite different. A very enjoyable course, from which I derived a lot of benefit. I will certainly be able to use it with my fitness clients.”

“My interest was first spiked when I saw an Instagram post from the UK College of Qigong showing ‘Pulling Down the Heavens’. It came at a time when everything in my world was moving at a frantic pace, and I was struggling to keep up. This type of exercise was a complete change of pace. It was something I didn’t think I could manage – however, I really wanted to give it a go.
I got in touch with the College and had a very fruitful chat about what Qigong was and how it could work for me. We even did a talk on IG to explain the practise and discuss its benefits for a large range of people. The enthusiasm and knowledge of my teacher along with her genuine love of what she does convinced me that I might find something to challenge me, so I enrolled for the Golden Ball Fitness Qigong Course.
The first Zoom session was a 1-1 as I was coming from a fitness perspective rather than an energy one. This was essential as I did have misgivings about energy work which is way out of my comfort zone. After 2 hours in the afternoon session which concentrated on the movements themselves, I began to appreciate how this type of movement could benefit both me and my class members. Both ‘Pulling Down the Heavens Qigong’ and ‘Golden Ball Qigong’ require flowing movements, mindful breath and visualisation work which brings a sense of calm as you work through them. I now do ‘Pulling Down the Heavens after getting up each morning’ as a reset for the day ahead.
Between each Zoom meeting I had a myriad of questions which were answered with patience and clarity, and I also had some challenges to keep me motivated. One of these was to perform ‘Pulling Down the Heavens’ in an outdoor area. To say I was a bit apprehensive is an understatement, but it was surprisingly uplifting.
On a personal front I have found that performing the 2 low impact exercises definitely improves my focus and allows me to ‘be still’ even if it’s only for a few seconds. I will now be able to offer an alternative for those people who want to exercise at a slower pace while still feeling the benefits of movement.
I have really enjoyed this course and would highly recommend the UK College of Qigong to any FitPros who want to explore the possibilities of this form of exercise from the fitness perspective.”

“After searching and studying various arts I still hadn’t quite found what it was I seemed to be searching for. I came across the UK College of Qigong and was intrigued by what I was reading. Feeling inspired I registered for the Golden Ball training course.
During the training, it was evident how a group of strangers became friends as the course unfolded. Going home and absorbing the teachings into my daily life with daily practice, research etc, the changes were evident and were noticed by friends and family, this was one very powerful and harmonizing system. The most profound thing I noticed was that these teachings were waking up a part of me that had been sleeping for way too long. It’s funny how things have a way of coming to you when you most need them and least expect them.
Practising Golden Ball out in nature is a wonderful experience and I do it as much as possible. Golden ball inspired me in so many ways the most resonant part of the course was the feeling of the physical, mental and emotional impact the training was having not just on myself but on my fellow students too. Feeling so inspired by the training and Anita and her tea, I have enrolled on the Daoist Qigong Diploma course…sometimes things just seem right. Thank you, Anita, for the wonderful teachings, I look forward to passing them on so others can benefit from them as much as I have.”

REVIEW:
“Practicing Golden Ball Qigong has brought me many benefits which have positively influenced my overall wellbeing. Carrying out this practice has helped me to think more clearly, feel calmer on a day-to-day basis. In turn this has aided my sleep quality which I have struggled with for a number of years. The benefit of being able to do this alongside my arthritis has also been a huge positive. Anita’s teaching style in our sessions complimented my development perfectly. Due to her clarity, encouragement, and evident passion, I felt I could learn so much from her in short spaces of time and was always clear on our purpose. I couldn’t recommend Golden Ball Qigong enough.”

REVIEW:
“I originally came on the course to learn a Practice that has a rich history with philosophies that can be applied to everyday modern life. The structure of the course is designed to add layers to the core foundation through understanding the Daoist theory; then building the exercises into an established routine. This was very effective in style and allowed time for thought provoking discussions in all aspects of the theory. I really enjoyed asking questions and have my answers explained in a logical manner. The teaching style was disciplined and professional at all times.”
